June 2008 —Smith and Company Architects has been selected to be a part of Beaumont ISD's three year work plan. The firm will be included in a pool of A/E design services for various projects throughout the school district.  

May 2008 —Smith and Company Architects was selected by the City of Houston to renovate the existing Deluxe Theater located in the Fifth Ward.  

April 2008 — Smith and Company was recently awarded projects with The City Of Houston. Smith and Company will renovate the DeLuxe Theater located in the 5th Ward. The Project will accommodate a 10,000 square foot library, 2,000 shared classroom space, and 10,000 square foot of theater space. Construction is expected to be complete November 2009.

February 2008 — Smith and Company was recently awarded projects with Texas A&M, Port Arthur Independent School District and Fort Bend Independent School District.

Emerging Technologies and Economic Development Building, Texas A&M University – Smith & Company Architects has teamed with Perkins + Will to design the Emerging Technologies and Economic Development Building at Texas A&M University in College Station. The Emerging Technologies and Economic Development Building will support university engineering and allied teaching and research programs and will contain offices, classrooms, faculty research labs (wet and dry), computer based teaching classrooms and a computer server room, and a computational science visualization area. Two thirds of the space in the Emerging Technologies and Economic Development Building will house the Biomedical Engineering and Industrial Systems Engineering departments.

The total Gross Square Feet for this project is 231,624

  1. Smith & Company was selected by Port Arthur ISD to design their new school for Performing and Visual Arts.
  2. Smith & Company was selected by Fort Bend ISD to work on elementary school classroom enclosures as part of their recently passed bond referendum.
  3. Smith & Company was recently awarded the Metro Solutions Transit System Plan - University Corridor Service and Inspection Shop scheduled to be completed in 2012.

January 2008 — Texas Southern University featured Ennis Street Parking Garage and Retail Space in Architectural Portfolio Honoring Education Design Excellence.

March 2006 — The Board of Regents of Texas Southern University has awarded the Campus Master Plan to Smith & Company Architects in association with Gensler.

April 2006 — Smith & Company Architects has been selected by the City of Houston & Houston Public Library to design the African American Library at the Gregory School project for the City of Houston & Houston Public Library.
