Scope:

Built in 1951, Sam Houston Elementary School was built utilizing a prototype plan that was repeated several times in the school district. The 68,500 square foot, one level building is comprised of three separate wings connected by a glass enclosed corridor. Priority in this renovation will be concentrated on the building’s life safety related components including a new fire alarm and a new sprinkler system. The roof will be completely replaced. A completely new 4-pipe HVAC system will be added along with an upgraded electrical system.

Architecturally, the school will get new windows and exterior doors throughout the campus. Additional corridor lighting will be added to brighten up dark hallways.
