Travis Elementary School

Scope:
Built in 1951, Travis Elementary School was built utilizing a prototype plan that was repeated several times in the school district. The 68,500 square foot, one level building is comprised of three separate wings connected by a glass enclosed corridor. Priority in this renovation was concentrated on the building’s life safety related components including a new fire alarm and a new sprinkler system. The roof will be completely replaced. A completely new 4-pipe HVAC system will be added along with an upgraded electrical system.
Architecturally, the school recieved new windows and exterior doors throughout the campus. Additional corridor lighting was added to brighten up dark hallways.
