Scope:

The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority (HCAA) is in the final stages of completing the 1998 Master Plan Update. The Master Plan is a comprehensive study, used as a guide by the HCAA for the long-term development of Tampa International Airport (TPA). The Service Building Expansion project is but one piece of the total master plan.

The Service Building Expansion includes, but is not limited to, an expansion to the second floor of the Service Building to accommodate the requisite square footage displaced by the future relocation of the Red Side Rental Car Counters from the existing Baggage Claim Level into the first floor of the Service Building. Once the expansion of the second level is complete, certain departments and functions of the Aviation Authority will be relocated from the Landside Terminal Building and the first floor of the Service Building to the new facilities on the second floor to accommodate phasing of demolition and resulting refitting of the remaining warehouse spaces on the first floor for HCAA stores, relocation of the HMS Host (the Food and Beverage concessionaire) employee cafeteria, tenant build out for HMS Host, modifications of the trash chute and compactor areas and HCAA Maintenance Department additions.

Smith & Company performed Programming and Schematic Design services in association with Ranon & Partners Architects.
