Texas Southern University
President's Suite and Board Room
Completed: August 2001
Size: 5,000 sq. ft.
Scope:
At 5,000 SF, the President at Texas Southern University had outgrown her office suite and needed more space to house additional staff. Located in the Hannah Hall Administration Building, the president’s suite had last been renovated in the early 1980’s and did not project an image that was consistent with the President’s vision for the 9,000-student campus.
This project added an additional 5,000 SF to the existing suite and totally gutted the existing finishes down to the concrete structure. Using an assortment of high-end materials, this $1 million renovation and addition, included cherry wood paneling, marble flooring, stained glass windows and doors, and coffered ceilings. The new 20-seat boardroom was equipped with state-of-art audiovisual equipment with ability to view presentations on any part of the campus.
