Leonard Hall was the third of the 9 Corps of Cadets dormitories to be renovated and modernized by Texas A&M University and the last of three renovated by Smith & Company. Sitting in the historic quad at the center of the College Station campus these 220 beds 34,700 SQFT dormitories was completed gutted down to the structure and renovated with all new dorm rooms and communal shower & toilet rooms.

Smith & Company Architects also served as design architect for the new Leadership Learning Center (LLC) which incorporated core elements such as elevators, stairway, mechanical, electrical, data/telecommunication rooms and additional spaces for academic support, offices, lounges, multipurpose use and possibly a guard room.

Other desired upgrades included pavement landscaping, drainage and public plazas surrounding Leonard Hall (Dorm #7) and LLC, as well as additional student amenity spaces for academic support, cadet training, offices, student lounges, multipurpose/multi-use rooms, computer labs and distant learning.
