Lone Star College System engaged Smith & Company Architects to complete a preliminary program study for a 15,000 SF expansion of the existing Workforce Building at the Lone Star College Conroe Center at 777 Conroe Park North Drive, Conroe, TX 77303. The new expansion includes additional academic lab areas for welding, machining, and automotive repair education.

Welding Expansion
The new expansion included a new Welding Lab and Classrooms. The student population was around (14) fourteen. That number was increased by an additional (14) fourteen students resulting in final total student population of (28) twenty-eight. The new expansion accommodates space for (14) fourteen new welding booths. This new Welding Lab meets the New System Standards of Workforce Building.

Machining Expansion
The new expansion also included a new Machining Lab. The student population was around (15) fifteen. That number was increased by an additional (15) fifteen resulting in final total student population of (30) thirty. The lab needed to accommodate space for all the required machining equipment.

Automotive Expansion
A request was made to look into expanding the Automotive Lab and classrooms as well. The student population was (15) fifteen and that number was increased by (15) fifteen resulting in final total student population of (30) thirty.
